Guys,
Finally I have found a job on East coast.
Will be moving there soon.

I have my house here in Houston and will be putting it for sale/lease.
I have left a mesg with attorney to find out my options.

But if someone who has gone thru this , advice me -

1> If I shd file for AR-11 , with address from Virginia and then my case gets transferred to VSC ?
My attorney is here in Houston.

2> Or I shd file for AR-11 and keep a friend's address of here in TX. That way, my case stays with TSC.
I will have to come here in Houston for FPs & if needed interview.

I am with ND - May 02 & have not been FPed as yet.

Goastros,

You may be approved ahead of us. I have a friend who also filed in May 02, no FP and moved to VSC's region. He filed AR11, but did not let his attorney notify BCIS. He got FP noctice after just two weeks.

My two cents worth.

We have all spent too much time and effort in this country to lose everything because of an innocent misstatement. I would either plan on letting your wife stay in the Houston home and call you when the FP notice arrives, or if moving as a family, notify INS of the address change. From the postings on this forum, 485 transfers seem to be adjudicated quickly. You may have to go for a personal interview.

LongGC, I know you have gone thru lot worse than I have.
At times, talking with people at times makes you ease your pain.
If you wish to communicate, e-mail me at spj318ti@yahoo.com

Rama, wife & 3 month baby in Houston and Me over in DC, is not an option.
Plus I work as a DBA so flying on weekends is not possible.
Hopefully I can talk with my attorney tomorrow.

goastros,

I moved to the Maryland area around 1 year back and am still keeping my Florida address (uncle's). Ofcourse, we had to go fly to Florida for FP, interim EAD's etc.
VSC is faster, but filing an AR-11 does not transfer your case usually. However, it may generate an RFE or transfer to local office which is more worse.

Plasticcard,
I too earlier was thinking of the same idea as yours, using a friend's address.
And come here for FPs and later for EADs.
But I spoke with my attorney who said
if there were any questions later, then there could be more problems.

So he has suggested to file for AR-11 and see what happens.

I just wish I had found a job here in texas..:-(.
But this opportunity is very exciting.

TSC to VSC area

goastros,

I also moved from TSC to VSC area begining this month.
I have not yet filled AR-11 ( I have my appt till Sep ...)

eb2_I485_RD0901, have you seen the AR-11 form?
I was also wondering abt
"port of entry" & "date of entry" &
esp. this questions - "If not a permanent resident, my stay in the US expires on".
My I-94 has long expired.
The H1 extension applied on that is for 2004, but I don't work
for that company anymore.

Now I am in the US as Adjustee.
Anyone else knows, what date shd i write or leave it blank?

Not sure

goastros,

I have not even looked at the AR-11 form yet.
Since I am still a legal resident of FL till 9/15 ..I plan to fill around 9/25. ( 10 days ... rule )

Please do the research and fill me in on the details as well. I will also speak to my lawyer ...maybe he can advise .

My status was 485 pending in TX when I had to move to CA, but same company. I asked my lawyer what to do - he told file AR11, and do nothing else. He said AR11 may not mean anything for my 485. I asked him about FP, etc.; he told u will have to come to TX for that. Basically he didnot let BCIS know of my address change with respect to my 485.

Guess what? I lost my job in CA and am back in TX now. Boy, I am happy I did do nothing else than AR11.
