Moving to Canada permanently, need advice!

I landed in Canada in Aug 2001, and came back to US soon after. Now I am planning to settle down in Canada permanently. Here are my questions:

1. What sort of questions will be asked when I arrive at the boarder by road? Do you see any problem for me to go in?

2. I already paid the importing fee for my car during the initial landing. Now besides the british/metric conversion, the English/French addition, my car also needs day time running light. All the alternations will be done in Canada after settling in, am I right? I have a 2000 Accord LX. Is it worth to import?

3. I called 204-983-3500 (Canadian Customs & revenue) regarding the validity of the goods-to-follow list. I was told it should be still valid for duty free importing. Can anybody verify this?

Thanks very much in advance. Anything else you think may be helpful will be highly appreciated.

1) regular custom questions , Nothing special hopefully

2) Import your car , for daytime running lights , go to canadian tires and then get your car registered . If they do not do it , go to any Honda dealer in canada , they should do it .

3) The goods to follow is valid

Thanks, bhand11683. And....

Also, over the years, I have been reading on this site how difficult to find a job in Canada, etc.

How about other aspects of life? I know taxes are high. How about the health care system? Is it working efficiently or sufficiently?

I guess I am just trying to get some understanding of life up north. Would appreciate any thoughts and inputs. Thanks.

Regarding my original question #1, I am very anxious as this will be my one way move. Does anybody see anything that could cause any problem?

Regarding the I-94 (from the H-1B approval notice), it is wriiten on the back to surrender it to the canadian officer if leaving the US acrossing the north boarder. Has anybody done so? Thanks.

Job finding is difficult everywhere , But wheneevr you change a country initial struggles are always there .

Keep your I-94 , YOu do not need to submit it . WIth a calid visa you could travel back to US if required

You should be fine . Taxes are high but you can used to it after a while .

You will be fine . Believe in yourself and go ahead
