my I-485 has been pending for 19 months, and replied an rfe 2 months ago, now I am facing a dilemma, the project I am working for currently will run out of funding, I need to find a new job ASAP, after job hunting for a while, I got an offer from a company in memphis, very similar job and a little better payment, but I don't know whether my case will then be transferred to texas center? everybody knows the process in that center is gonna take forever, so what would be the best thing for me to do?

anybody, please share some ideas, thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How about having a mailbox with Mailboxes etc. kind of people. They will give you an address that looks like a apartment address and for a charge they will send all your mail for a charge. If possible you may ask your new company to run a payroll for your older state. I too was having a similar idea but was not sure if that would really create an issue.
Any insights from others appreciated

To the best of my knowledge, one cannot use PO Boxes for any immigration related addresses. Having an address with Mail Boxes will give you the advantage of having a complete address (including street address and Apartment Number).

But, under AR-11 one is supposed to update the address with INS within 10 days of moving. INS can pick up the address from anything including Driver's License, Apartment Rental, Mortgage, Tax Documents, et al. Agreed this is giving too much credit to INS but when an adjustee play by the rules.

davli024, what is your receipt number and what does the jit say. if you are right near the border of approval, i would say hang in till your project funding runs out. then join the new company in memphis.

secondly, i donot know the chances of your case transferring to texas service center.

any insights on case transfer after changing service centers?

Other than apartment lease and related stuff like utilities bills or a mortgage agreement, you can get almost anything from a mailbox address. You can get a drivers licence, credit card bills , mobile phone bills , pay stubs etc.
There is no hard and fast rule we have to have an apartment leased on our name.
I wonder how can INS make out that it is not an apartment address but a mailbox address. I know we will be deviating from the requirement of not to mention a PO Box address but we cannot pay a price for the inefficiency of INS.
So if anyone did give mailbox address can post their experience here.
