Moving/Spouse questions

Hello!

I am pretty sure similar moving issues might have been discussed many times.
I have 1 more to add.

1) I am currently living in east coast and my 5years-90days window has started last week. I am ready to apply.

I am going to move to southwest in March. That means if I don't apply now; I need to wait until June to be able to apply since I need to wait 3 months after March. I can gain 6 months by applying now.

I know this moving is going to delay my case. You guys know how much this might delay my case? Few months? Many months? If many months it might make more sense to apply in SW.

2) Second question: My wife and I got our GCs from Lottery at the same time. You think it is a good idea to stick both applications in the same envelope so that we are scheduled for interview at the same? Or they will schedule us together regardless?

Thanks for the help!

We prepared two separate applications, two checks, and mailed two envelopes. Our last names don't match (so, if someone wanted to figure out we were spouses, they had to look).

Our FP appointments were at the same time and our original interview times were 10 minutes apart (my was descheduled at the last minute though).

There is some advantage to decoupling - if one of your applications gets screwed up (name check, descheduling, etc), the other goes along happily.

If you move districts part way through processing, your application will be held up by the file shuffling and also the requirement for 3 months residence in the new district prior to interview. (You may care to verify this last point, but I'm pretty sure the first thing the IO does is check whether you have been resident in his district for long enough)
