Need advice and information on moving to the US (specifically Chicago, San Jose & Philly). My husband is considering job offers in either of these 3 places, with the intention of moving mid-year.
Our situation :
- we have a 2-mth old baby (now)
- he'll go over first & I'll join him abt 6mths later
- when I join him there, I'll not be working for abt the first 6mths
- we're looking at staying in the US for at least 2 years
We hope to be able to have some advice on the following:
1) In terms of safety & security, which place is a better option?
2) What is a reasonable annual salary for these 3 places, considering that the cost of living differs between them?
3) We intend to get a 1-bedroom apartment in a safe neighbourhood. Does it make more sense to rent a furnished or unfurnished apt? What's the average rental in these 3 places?
