I will be moving out of state (NJ to AR) because of change in job. I am eligible to apply for citizenship in late July 2007. Is it adivsable to move/not move now and wait till the process is finished.

If you have decided to accept the job then do the following:

1. Move to AR.
2. Get an AR Drivers License.
2. Wait for 3 months (to establish residency).
3. Then apply from AR.

If you want to apply from NJ it is HIGHLY recommended that you stay in NJ during the process. If you move in-between your file will get transferred to AR and USCIS will delay 3 months (so that you can establish residency). Another problem will file transfers is that they get lost sometimes.

So If you can stay in NJ for about 18 more months then apply in NJ otherwise move to AR and wait 3 months and then apply.

Thanks.

Only 3 months wait is needed, right? So If I move in March, get AR DL then can file in anytime after June when I become ligible, right?

Is the procedure mentioned to obtain citizenship, Is this the same, even
if you are marriage based...and moving to take a new job out of state?

1. wouldn't alien have to change service centers? all legal papers have
married home address.
2. if spouse takes job out of state, should he or she still help in the payment
of utilities bills? (or put in other spouse's name).
3. close bank accounts, etc.
4. how about visits on weekends or 2 X a month to home of spouse.
5. what is spouse lives with a girlfriend in state where he took the job?
6. wouldn't all new employment papers have to have marital status?
home address? etc.

if spouse files for citizenship by himself....all he would need are his tax
records? (and nothing from marriage). INS knows the patterns of those
that get perm residency thru U.S. Citizen. He is in the pattern .

This "spouse" claims that he is coming home 2X a month! (QUestionable).
Also, does not want any bank accts. etc. closed with his name on it. Just
a name (none of his funds in acct)
He took the water bill and TV bill , canceled them. wife paid the power
etc. So, if he goes for citizenship, he cannot show that he is maintaing
his marital home and helping in the financial support. (Wife doesn't need it,
but just the principle of it.

He has also told wife, that he might be living in a hotel (!!!!). So comes
forth a "phoney address"... with all the trimmings.

So, in fact he will be abandoning his marital home! So, as he is marriage based.... he will have none of these papers to count on.

Somehow, he thinks all of this is a joke! It is serious and no one is
playing around but him.

Yes as long as you meet other Citizenship requirements. Continuous Residence requirement, Physical Presense requirements, Good Moral Character etc. etc.
