Moving back to states for school, want to bring foreign wife

Hi, I am new to these forums. Here is my question:

I (A US Citizen) am currently residing in Canada. I went to university in BC in 2008, graduated in 2012 and married a Canadian citizen also in 2012 (July). I am currently under a Post Graduation Work Permit (3 years).

However, I hope to return to the States in September of 2014 so I can attend Graduate school in Oregon (my original home state) and I obviously would like to bring my wife with me. I know that the typical way this is done would be via an I-130. It is my understanding, however, that this requires me to be currently living in the US to apply.

I am wondering if there is an easier way to go through this process of me moving back to the states for school and bringing her with me. It would be our intention to stay there "permanently," at least for the knowable future.

On a side note, it would be nice if she were able to get a job as well. I realize that might not happen right away, but would it be possible to sort out some sort of work permit before hand as well so she could begin a job search early? If not, our primary goal would be for her to move with me when I go (in September 2014) and then deal with work permits etc. later, so long as she can at least live there with me. Also, I know Canada and the US have close relations regarding immigration (it was very simple for me coming this direction) so I was hoping there was some quicker avenues, etc?

So my main questions would be: are there special forms or avenues to go in my situation and how does it work applying from out of country?

Thanks for any help!
