BEEN THERE DONE THAT. Got done with the successful Interview on February 6th, 2002.
Here is a brief of my case, hope it might help soome one.
My GC process started on December 10th, 2000.
Got approved with the LC under RIR on January 11th, 2001.
Applied for I140 in April, got a notice for Proof of Evidence Required in August. I was given till Oct, 15th to submit proof of my experience from my previous Employer. Submitted that on Oct 10th, 2001. My case was approved on November 7th, and a NVC case number was generated on Nov 20th. My packet was sent out on Dec 3rd, and I hand mailed the Packet III (printed form the internet even before I received the Packet in my hand - rec on December 23rd). The packet III was submitted by my friend who had his interview on December 13th, 2001. I had a covering letter requesting for an early February date because of my wife being pregnant and in her last trimester.
I called the Embassy to check if they had received my packet on December 24th-India Time, 2001. They said they had entered the case into System on the 13th itself. When requested for a date they said call in January end...was hoping to get a date in Febraury. Caled in January, asked to call again sometimes later...tried this for 4-5 times. Finally on January 30th I got hold of one Lady and requested her again for a Feb date and she finally gave me February 6th. So I had the blood Rush through my life.
Went to the Consulate after my medicals ( Dr. Jain-they treat you like a robot- three injection at the same time -YES!!!) and photographs. My name was not called till 3:00 PM so I went to the counter to ask what is going on... she had another file before mine. I asked her if I could come first because my wife was not feeling well, to which she was very polite and said you should have told that before. Anyway all the documents collected. Asked to come back at 4:00 PM so had just enough time to go out and have some lunch( a driver was waiting for me). At 5:00 PM I again went to ask what happened so they said they were preparing my case and got the packet at 5:05 PM
