Mothers last name (1 letter different)

Have a question for the experts out there, really need your help and advice.
I recently became a US citizen and applied I-130 for my mother who is in India.
-- My last name has one letter different (Dalvai) in the birth certificate from my mothers which is (Dalwai). This was a small mistake that my parents did and i have a different last name in all my documents.
-- I applied for my mothers I-130 as "Shweta Dalvai" the way it exists in my birth certificate
-- My mothers passport and birth certificate are as "Shweta Dalwai"

I asked for some local lawyers help and they are asking for $2500 and they say it can be worked thru without issues.

Has anyone gone thru such a scenario and what should we do as we go forward to filing the I-485 once the I-130 is approved??
Will she have any problems during the consular interview process due to the name difference??

Really appreciate if anybody can advice.
Thanks a bunch in advance!!

Melany,
One letter difference in the last name between men’s last name and women’s is very common in some cultures and INS is aware of that.
In “Recent USC” case there is an actual mistake in the documents that he/she has to work around, but in your case it seems (I’m assuming this) like extra letter in your name defines your gender. If this is the case, then you shouldn’t worry about. Your birth certificate, copies of his and your passports should be enough evidence.
Good luck!

Mother's last name (1 letter different)

Please can anybody advice what should i do now since i already applied I-130 with mother's name "Shweta Dalwai" as it exists in my birth certificate.

Should i have applied for I-130 as it exists in my mother's passport??
Thanks for any advice.
