Mother with GC sponsoring son

I am a US Citizen and my mother recently got her GC through me. My brother (age 25) is pursuing his MBA in the US on an F-1 visa. I was hoping somebody could please answer a few questions for me:

- Being a Green Card holder, my mother can now sponsor my brother for his GC. How soon can she apply for him?

- How soon can my mother apply for her own naturalization/citizenship?

- If my mother applies for his GC, according to the visa bulletin he comes under category 2B right? http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_2943.html

- My mother is nearing age 60 and does not work or have any income. The sponsorship requirement states: “Your relative must prove they can support you by providing documentation that their income is 125% above the mandated poverty line for their family, including you and all other sponsored family members.” Can we get around this requirement by me being a joint-sponsor?

Thanks for your help

I don't think there is any restriction on when she can apply for your brother.

Since your mother got her GC through a family based petition, but not through marriage to a USC, she has to wait 5 years (4 years and 9 months) before she can apply for naturalization to get her citizenship.

Correct. Your brother would be 2B if he is unmarried and 3 if he is married.

You can be a joint sponsor/household and help with the 125% of the poverty line clause.

so did you mother applied for your brother?
How was his F-1 status affected when your mother applied for him?.
Did he go back to your country and is waiting for the GC or was he able to get another visa...H-1b?
I have exact same situation (mother as PR and sister on F-1). And I was wondering how it all turned out?.
Let me know.
