here's my situation:
my mother is a permanent resident. my father is here on an h-1 visa. my sister is a citizen (which is how my mother received her PR). i was on my dad's h-1 as a minor child, but since i will be turning 21 in october, my university advised me to change to an f-1 student visa, which i have applied and received my letter stating that my case is pending.
my question is, if my mother applies for me to receive a PR through her before my 21st birthday, will i count for the child status protection act? and how long would this process take on average? and, since this process will most likely take a while, if i have a job offer that will allow me an h-1 visa as well (or any other work visa), would applying for this have any effect on the PR process (or vice-versa)?
oh, and i am a citizen of canada and brazil, if that changes anything.
