First on the I-130 it says Other Names Used (including maiden name)
Should I put my maiden name there altough my last name is my husband's?
Will they interpret that as other names in use??

Then on the DS-230 form I have some questions.
We are doing a consular filing for your knowledge. :)

Full name in Native Alphabet (If Roman letters not used)
I'm from Sweden so am I going to put my full name there, or skip it?
Probably not is what I assume though!

Then question #11 says Address in the United States where you want your Green Card mailed. If different from address in #10 (include the name of a person who currently lives there)

I thought that if you do consular filing, that they mailed it to my Swedish address, I mean I live in Sweden, and that I was supposed to recieve it here and have it in my hand when I enter the United States? I must be able to put my Swedish address there right?

Then on #12 Your present occupation
Should I put housewife or unemployed?

Then on #14 it asks for "Spouse's occupation"
Since he JUST got unemployed, should I put unemployed or his profession there?

Then on #22 it asks for in what occupation do you intend to work in the United States?

Should I then put none???? Or can I put the profession I was in before?

Then on#23 they ask for all educational institutions attended, do I have to attach all of my school papers and diplomas??

Then on #25 They ask for previous visits to the United States, and location, should I put under location the port of entry or do I have to put every state I was in, there were several of them I visited then! And type of visa was the
I-94 should I put that or visitor visa, it's still the same.

I know I sound as if I'm retarded or 10 yrs old!!! :D

1) For other names used you should put ALL names you ever used, it doesn't matter if you don't use them any more.

2) I think Swedish language uses Roman alphabet. Does your name look the same when you write it in Swedish and in English. If yes, you should just put N/A there.

3) I don't know where they mail the green card, sorry! I thought people got them at the port of entry to the U.S.

4) #12 present occupation - either way is fine.

5) #14 - you should put his current job there. I assume, if he's unemployed at the moment, it would be "unemployed".

6) #22 well, it's up to you. They don't like when you say "none" there.

7) #23 - no, you should just write the names of these institutions, do not attach any diplomas.

8) #25 - no clue about this one. I would put port of entry there, but I'm just so not sure!

Good luck! :)

Thank you Jewel !

Thank you for your help! :)

I hope it's not going to be an issue that we are both unemplyed, as long as there is a joing sponsor, you think so?

I hope not. You are covered by the joint sponsor: however, I think that they take into consideration the persons age, education, abilities, to try to "predetermine whether or not the immigrant will be likely to become a "public charge" but then even if one tried to do that, the criteria involves reporting income and although the immigrant who wishes to estable residency isn't working or their spouse they will consider the sponsor's income (they call it 'deeming') and since the sponsor's income is EQUAL to or ABOVE the poverty guideline, then the immigrant usually doesn't qualify!!! (Keep in mind, I am not refering to the ISCIS, I am referring to other agencies that help citizens of USA live)

I am just trying to give you a little information so that you can have information that will help you understand this process better. You don't have to worry about it, just store this for your own knowledge. If all your paperwork is in order, then you will likely succeed. I pray you don't get a harsh interviewer (someone who has a power trip or chip on their own shoulder).
