"On Thursday, Pakistan’s ambassador here, Ashraf Jehangir Qazi, accompanied by his deputy, Mohammad Sadiq, held a meeting with Steve Hadley, who occupies the number two slot in the National Security Council which is headed by Condoleezza Rice, President Bush’s close confidante and adviser. The two diplomats were heard but were told that there were going to be no exemptions and, eventually, everyone visiting the United States, no matter from what country, would be required to register himself with the Immigration and Naturalisation Serice (INS), in accordance with existing rules."

HOW ABOUT THAT!!!

Yea of course, what you saw in LA is just a start, be very sure of that. USA is turning into just another xenophobic european country

It is good for all

It is a encouraging news. It is good for the country and good for all of us who are going to live in this country. There is nothing wrong by including all the country in this list. May be our processing is delayed but we can live in peace in the future.

delays in processing is the main reason many people need to overstay in the first place. And it wont bring any peace in any future. How many terrorists will register and face interview voluntarily before the INS?

think baby...

Also...

How does this exercise of FP'ing and photographing help catch terrosrists. None of the hijackers/beasts of Sep11 had any records. They would have sailed thru the process. In order to, not create a nightmare they should stick to the Islamic countries they have now identified. Pakistan is a whiner. They should have been the first on the list even before Syria and Sudan.

Don't even get me started on the futility of change of address exercise.

Who is this joker who doesn't care if our processing is delayed?

I have waited over 18 months just to get my labor approved thanks to freaking 245 (i), and now another 18 months + of headaches for AOS? Inspite of paying taxes regularly and without complain? You are freaking kidding I hope Mr. ambrose.

As if the terrorists are not smart enough to circumvent these moronic proceedings. If the economy had been roaring along as in 2000, the industry leaders would have raised such a hue and cry over this bunkum procrastination that the Bush government would have been falling over itself to facilitate immigration. I doubt any of the measures in place are going to actually increase security by any stretch of immagination.

In my eyes, these more cumbersome procedures will only make america relatively unsafe, since more red-tape = less enforcement.

Bush is such an idiot really.
