Moonlighting when on H1B

I am on H1B visa at this moment and I stuck a project on itmoonlighters.com and now I am getting all sorts of doubts.
Is it legal to work on such projects ?
Its a small projects which is just $50.
I wanted to know if I can do that before I start on it.
ANyone got any ideas ?
