I have canada permanent residence. I currently work in the US as H1B, and I have appointment in January 05 in Montreal to get H1B visa.
My previous H1b visa (got in toronto) expired May 04, and my current I797 goes to mid 2006 (company sponsored and got H1b approval a few month back)
Reason for getting a visa is that I can go to other country and come back, hopefully with the multi entry visa I will be getting from Montreal US consulate.
My questions:
1. My previous experience in Toronto is good. 2nd day visa issue and pick up. This was after Sept.11.2001. Is Montreal the same these days? I read some places that they do same day, but the booking service says 3 days. Please share experience.
2. I know many people talking about background check and not getting visas..Many are 3rd country nationals. I am canada PR. Does that make any differnce?
3. Last time, they didn't ask for online fill out forms. I called for appointment also this time(not booking online). STill yet to receive the application notices. But looks like there are something that need to be completed online anyway. Is that associated with background check? Is it better to fill that ASAP before I receive the offical packet in the mail from them?
I guess any canada PR's input will be hightly appreciated.
