Nooo, just kidding, wanted to attract a lot of worried montreal
readers to this post
It was a breeze, interview was scheduled for 8:30, went to the
consulate at 7:30 (actually went there a few minutes early, but
saw no one at the door, so went back to my car which was parked
in a public parking lot almost right next to the consulate), got
token #4, and after security check, sat in the basement.
At 8:15, they started taking people up the elevator (I guess to the 19th
floor, I did not notice, but have heard other posters say it is on the
19th floor).
IV applicants were called according to the token number around 8:45, they
called us over around 9:00. The person at the counter took exactly the
following docs, IRS9003, BC, MC, Police certificates (name based from
Canada + one from Indian consulate), notarized letter from Employer and
for my wife, IRS9003, BC (+ affidavit from her parents since no name
mentioned on her BC), Police ceriticates, I-134 + a Attorney certified
copy of my employer\'s letter to me. Thats it and we were asked to submit 2
photos, and we were asked to sign on one of them and OF-230 Part 2 (which
was sent out with Pkt 3 itself).
We went back and started waiting till our name was called out to Booth B,
which was around 10 AM, the lady officer was very sweet, and after the
oath, the only thing asked was what my company was up to, gave a half
line description of the company and that was it, asked if our parent\'s
names were correct on the form and all other info on it was right, and
asked us to pay the fee and wait for 15 minutes to collect our papers.
That was it, and it took around 5 minutes for the same.
Of course, the 15 minutes turned out to be almost an hour, we got our
papers at 11, everything looked fine and thats the end of the story.
Am not in town, so might not be able to respond promptly for queries, but
will be back on board after Jan 1st.
CHeers and for other anxious waiters, everyone else seemd to ahve an
equally easy time, so don\'t worry, everything will be fine.
