Hi everyone.
My mom got her visitor visa from mumbai consulate. They rejected her visa twice & this was 3rd time she applied. Last 2 times, I sent all possible documents from here but they didn't even bother to check any documents.
This time I visited local senator , explained my situation. Senator office staff were very very helpful. Lady asked me to give details & said she will initiate inquiry about why they rejected visa. but it was almost more than year, I asked for letter of introduction & I got very nice letter of introduction from senator's office in mail within a week.
I tool ppointment & asked my mom to send copy of this letter along with application.
During visa interview, officer asked standard questions like
how many kids
where they live
what your husband do
where is he now
why you want to go
Then he asked to produce documents & my mom gave all documents but visa office just took first 2 documents ( First one was letter from senator's office & second was letter to consulate from myself). he took documents & asked my mom to sit outside . After denying visa to 10 - 12 people, visa office called my mom again & told her that your visa is approved & you will get your passport by tomorrow.
I think she got visa because of Letter from Senator's office else my mom visa could have been rejected again. (my mom said they were rejecting visas left & right at mumbai consulate).
