Hi,

I am planning to sponsor my mom for a visitor visa. She neither speaks nor understand english language. How is this issue resolved. Does consulate have translators?

I'm sure she'll be intimidated by the sorroundings in the consulated office since she hails from a village. Will it be possible for me(or someone else) to accompany her inside the office as she might not respond when her name is called? Any alternatives?

thanks.

They do have Translaters .You are given a form before the interview ( at least when I was there in India) which you specify that you need a translater.
They however sometimes allow another person if you explain to the security that he she cannot conduct herslef properly in the consulate or embassy but tht is totally at the discretion of the staff at the embassy

well as the websites mention, they will not allow anyone to accompany her, depending on the consulate they offer opportunity to book appointment in antive language at the time u r doing it online, they also have interpretors available on hand,.
