Misunderstanding about I483 categories EB3,EB2,EB1-pl.read

Hi everyone,
I keep seeing some messages/discussion related to how EB1/EB2/EB3
categories can effect in processing time for I485.
Please read:
EB1/EB2/EB3 categories do not have anything to do with I485.
They only apply until I140. Once you become current and apply
I485, there is no categorization of I485 applications.
The processing speed/process is same for ALL, I repeat for ALL.
Just follow up on dates for other applicants who applied before you
and your application procees steps/timing would be very near to others.
This is not a legal advice and is just my opinion.

I really want to believe that, but ...

At least out of those pending cases with Feb. RD on Ciba\'s list, almost all of them are EB-3, how do you explain that?

Believe me. EB catg. have nothing to do.

May be people who know about Ciba\'s site are more EB3.
My friends at work, have filed I485 before me in different
categories. Most of them did not post their dates at Ciba.
Their processing times were consistant and the catg. did not
matter. If you want to believe it, it is you choice.
Best thing is to follow up with cases filed before you.

somebody isn\'t very good at counting

First, on ciba\'s list, the notice date is used, not the receipt date.

Then, out of those registered on ciba\'s list with ND in 02/01 there are 17 EB3 and 41 EB2, the ratio being .414

Out of those, the number of ppl. still waiting is 7 EB3 and 13 EB2, the ratio being .538

Indeed, the ratio is a litle bigger for those still waiting, but given the small numbers we have (7 and 13) this doesn\'t prove anything. For example, if only one of the waiting EB3 guys would have been EB2 instead (or if I would just make one mistake by counting one EB2 as EB3 :)))) ), this would change the ratio to 6/14=.428 which is practically identical with the total no of EB3/EB2 (.414).

Be cool, before panicking do a better analysis.

Hi Small,

I am very impressed with your analysis. This is not the first
time you posted an informative message clarifying misunderstanding.
Good job.

sorry,i not agree with you.

check please your list, how many eb-3 with nd 11/00 still pending? answer just- couple.do you can explane why ?

Different counting

Your method of counting does not look into the ND of the approvals
for any patterns/differences.

Lets see the last update of Ciba\'s list -
ciba "CSC I-485 tracking (1402entries, 9new) updated on 08/28/01" 8/29/01 1:04am

We see 14 approvals of which only 4 are EB3.
And 3 of these EB3 are with ND 09-11/99 (99 cases, not 2000 or 2001)

This is pattern, that if consistent (I am not sure about this) would suggests:
1) EB2 approvals are 2-3 times the rate of EB3.
2) The EB3 approvals are mostly old cases, with few recent one.

Of course, someone has to look into the statistics for much more time to conclude some useful info. (And the actual approval dates)

There might be some hidden patterns - i.e. for week or two,
INS handles more RFE cases, then EB2, then EB3 etc.

(A sample conclusion would be that there is 1 pool of INS officers working on EB2 cases all the time, with another swithching between RFE cases and EB3.)

Different EB- category will be assigned to different IIO?!

Do you think different IIO handle different EB- category? For example, officer A only handles EB-1, officer B only handles EB-2, and officer C only handles EB-3. And, because of officer C is an inefficient guy, so that\'s why EB-3 processing time is slower than EB-1 or EB-2.
