How come the processing dates for the Chicago DO are February 2004 ?? Last month, they were from November 2004  .
Did I miss something or what ??

Ema.

Don't trust these dates...

My attorney doesn't believe these dates either and hasn't for a while. They don't correspond to the processing times he sees from his clients.

Maybe it's a typo - they may mean Feb 2005??? - just didn't change the year...

It’s not a mistake, Ema.
Those processing dates are fluctuating irrationally.
For an example, in my DO (Tampa, FL) for the last four months date was published like this:
1. May 2004
2. December 2003 :(
3. August 2003 :(:(
4. April 2004 :D

That’s why this forum is a good place to keep track of actual processing dates based on actual people experiences.

Dont quote me on this, but i got this info from an unreliable source (Makes enough sense to be true though). Looks like the employment based cases are being pushed from service centers to the local DOs to reduce 2002-2003 backlog. This in turn is affecting the family based cases and hence the flux in processing dates. Each DO is affected in a different way depending on how many cases are being pumped in there from the backlog centers.

That's an excellent point, Jane.

I agree - follow what actual people are experiencing.

To cheer you up, my lawyer told me that clients from here in Chicago who filed in Jan/Feb 2005 (marriage based to USC) are getting interview notices for this coming November. This is why he doesn't rely on those published timelines.

I noticed the exact same trough with my DO....two months in between showed dates that were about 2-3 months earlier than the processing date before that. Then after that it jumped back on track
