I think I know the answer but the translator used different spelling for my parents name as compared to their passport. It's a minor one and both sound phoentically correct but I can see USCIS rejecting the doucment because of minor misspelled words - especially one that affects name of applicant. Correct?

Correct it..

Sbkim,

It is important that you have the document translated properly. USCIS cannot infer what the translator meant, it might sound phonetically correct to you, but does USCIS understand your langauge?

Get the translator to re-correct the mistake or risk getting a RFE on the correct translation. ;)
