Hey Guys,

I am back to this forum after a 2 month absence. here are my case details

RD - 09/17/01
ND - 11/09
RFE - 10/31
Rfe response received 11/25
Interview notice 02/11
interview - 04/25

My interview was at 10am today. I went there early and they took me in early. My attorney was present with me during the interview. After taking the oath, the lady just went over our I-485 forms and updated information like recent entry, new visa info etc. She asked for my employment letter. She asked if we were ever arrested. She asked all the same questions to my wife while going over her I-485 forms. At the end she made us sign a form and took fingerprint of our right index finger. The interview notice says the interview will be videotaped but they dont do that. The lady took our I-94 and cancelled previous and current US visas. She didnt ask for EAD or parole documents.

My lawyer said it would take upto 120 more days to get the approval letter. It could be earlier since it will come from the local office.

All in all, if you get an interview , dont worry abt it and its not worth losing your sleep over it which I must admit I did it. It easier said than done though.

My case status was never updated as being transferred either on the phone or on the web. My lawyer said its upto the local office to update it and most local offices dont update it.

good luck to all of you :-))

Missouri INS Interview details

Hi Telecomguy

Thank you for your details

Did u change a job / address ? I heard that normally there will be a transfer to local office in either of the above situations.

also based on your experience do you feel that u needed a lawyer during the interview ?

Iam in a situation where I need to decide if I need to maintain my NJ residence until approval or move to Indiana where i got a job recently.

Re..

I did not change jobs or address. I am working in the same company for the last 6 yrs and staying in the same city. The interview letter had asked me to bring proof of marriage, shared residence, shared financial documents. etc. Basically to prove that me and my wife are living together. Having your attorney present helps mentally. And I would recommend having an attorney during interview.
