Missing Letter that came with Green Card

When I got my Green card, there was a letter with it. In it, it said that if I ever lose the GC, I need to show this letter to get my GC replaced.

Well, I think I have lost the letter. I don't know what form it is -- it looked official. Can someone help me figure out what this letter/form was and how I can replace it? I am worried that if I lose my GC, I will be left with no way to prove that I ever got the GC.

Also, if someone has this letter, could he/she use it to steal my identity or order a replacement GC for themselves -- without my knowing?

I am just stressed out about this because I think I need to take this letter with me to any citizenship interview...!

Relax, that letter has no value. It just had your name, address and A number on it.

Take a photocopy of your GC. You would submit the photocopy when applying for a replacement GC, not that letter.
