Missing File

I was interviewed at Dallas service center on 08/22/06. The interviewing officer upon completing all the formalities told me that a file related to my H1 in the past was missing. She did something on her computer and told me that she had ordered it and it should only take 4-5 days to get it. I was told that they would mail me the oath letter within a few days and I should write the officer a letter if I do not get anything after a month.
Well, as expected nothing happened and I sent her a letter on 09/22/06 for which I am not expecting a reply.
I specifically asked her if there was a security clearance problem and she replied that it was not and just a file was missing. Is there anything I should do or just wait?

I had the same problem of missing H1B file. I called the officer twice and left her messages on her voice mail. I also contacted my congressman's office. The oath letter came about four months after my interview.

Letters to the Dallas DO are useless. They just file them in your file (apparently unread - as far as I can tell).

If you are close, take an InfoPass and make them find out what is going on. It probably won't help.

Phone Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison's Dallas office. Talk to the immigration person there. She got my stuck application unstuck with one call. Do this after you find out exactly what's going on with an InfoPass. If you can describe exactly your situation, then the Senator's office doesn't waste a phone call finding things out -- instead they can get things done.

Good luck

I have the same problem! Missing file.

How did you find out the phone number of the officer? I have her name on N-652 form, but I don't even have a phone number for the office she works at, let lone her own line...

Just call the USCIS office and ask for the officer's phone number. Most likely the officer won't answer your call, then leave a voice message with your phone number. I did that and actualy she her called back. But I missed her call, she left a message on my voice mail. In any case, be prepared to wait for four months before you receive anything.
