Missed appointment to pick up certificate

I am Naturalized US citizen. My son (minor) had a green card. So I applied for his naturalization and we have got appointment to pick up certificate. Because of his exams we could not go but send explanation letter.
I have not heard anything since that time.
What to do now? any suggestions?
