Missed a Fingerprinting appointment - Need advise

I landed up missing our scheduled fingerprinting appointment. I needed some advise on what is the best way to reschedule the appointment. Also, any experience with a case where the applicants missed their fingerprinting appointment - does it mean that I need to restart the applications or is it possible to keep everything in track. Please advise. Would it be okay to just walk in to the INS office and get fingerprinted?

This is a case in California.

Regards

fingerprints are done at the Application Support Centers (usually not the same place as the INS office). You should have the address on your appointment letter. From what I unerstand there is usually a grace period of maybe 80 days before they consider you application abandoned.

Many ASCs allow fingerprinting for walk-ins. I did this in Charlotte as I am out of town the day of the appointment I came early and was fingerprinted the same day. However, I had to wait several hours (about 6 hours) as they wanted to process people with appointments first.
I suggest you go to your designated ASC and either fingerprint the same day or ask to reschedule your appointment.

Walk-in

My wife missed her appointment about 4 years ago. She walked-in to the Application support center the next day and they processed her with no problems

Walk in at ASC in SF

Has anyone gone to the ASC in SF on Broadway for fingerprinting after missing an appointment. I was told to write to INS and get it rescheduled but I am thinking of going to the ASC and trying it out first and hopefully they will allow us to get fingerprinted without rescheduling.

Any advise?
