Misplaced EAD...

Gurus, need help.

Working on H1B and misplaced my EAD. Can I travel on AP and I485 receipt copy only? H1 stamp on passport expired.

Yes you can travel - based on AP and 485 receipt notice.

But its ideal to have your EAD card along becos 'IF' the IIO asks to see your EAD card(which I doubt he will), you should be able to produce it. Becos given the fact your H1 has expired - what is then your basis of employment here, which in turn is the basis for your GC?

Guys - Any other thoughts on this?
 
I've been traveled on AP numerous times and never one time they asked me for my EAD. (BTW, I just received my 3rd AP today)
 
Thanks MrColz. I think you misunderstood me. I have my valid H1B status but my passport stamp is expired.
