Minimum validity of Advance Parole while coming back to US

Hi,

My advance parole expires within 2 months time. Can I make an India trip with that AP and come back before it expires ? Is there any minimum validity for the AP while coming back to US ? Somebody was telling me that it should have a minimum validity of 6 months while I am at any US port of entry coming back from any foreign country. Is it true ? It would be highly appreciated if somebody could clarify from his/her experience.

In my understanding....u can come back till a day before AP expires.
It is merely for travel.
As long as you have EAD to be in USA to maintain your status, no one should bother you.

Somebody was telling me that it should have a minimum validity of 6 months while I am at any US port of entry coming back from any foreign country.

This applies to many foreign passports whose bearers are entering the US as non-immigrants. This does not apply to APs.

Moreover, APs are only valid for 1 year at a time, so does this "somebody" want to convince you that the AP is useable for only half its validity dates? Come on now....
