Minimum Hours of Work?

I was working for Company A. Company A went bankrupt and laid off all employees but did not cancel the H1 visa. Company B filed for my H1B transfer within 60 days expecting to find me a project at a salary equal to that given by company A. However, company B is able to find me a project only for 20 hours/week and hence a wage well below the one mentioned in my original petition. Can I work without any problem? Can company B make any ammendments to my petition for less number of hours or pay?? Will there be any problem or will it be fine? What are the problems that I can face in the future?

On H1 you should preferably work full time

Part time work won\'t invalidate your H1-B. The INS will allow you to work part-time as long as they feel that you are earning enough money to support yourself. If you intend to establish permanent residence in the United States, however, you must be working full-time.

RE: On H1 you should preferably work full time

I agree that I can not apply for my Green Card if i work part time. Does it mean I can not apply at all? Can i apply later in few months I go into a full time job when the economy improves?
