I never thought it is an issue. But n the hightened security world would it cause any issue? Anybody with similar scenario?

{You did not indicate what you consider to be your first and
middle names. But knowing naming styles in Andhra I assume
the following.

In Andhra and possibly in other parts of India there is no
concept of middle names. It is just the Surname (family name)
and given name.

So in your case it could be :

Surname(family name/last name) : Pammi
Given name : Rama Krishna Raju

From the above let us know what you consider to be your
first name and the middle name.

Then I will give my situation which is exactly the same}

Name on my GC is with just Last, First and MI

PAMMI RAMA K

Hello Raju,

Thanks for response.

My last name : PAMMI
First Name: RAMA
Middle : KRISHNA RAJU

SSN and Passport have full expansion for middle name (PAMMI RAMA KRISHNA RAJU). GC and Driver License (NJ) have "PAMMI RAMA K".

krishnagc,

From the way you split your name, I would say you are
in good shape.

The Green Card lists your middle name 'Krishna Raju' as
just an initial 'K'.

In my case it is similar

My name is of the following style

Pxxxxx Vxxxxx Praxxxxxx Raju

In India if somebody asks I will say 'Pxxxxx' is my last name and
'Vxxxxx Praxxxxx Raju' my given name or first name.

However in US the following is how I indicated in all the forms

Last name: Pxxxxxx
First Name: Praxxxxxx Raju
Middle name: Vxxxx

In the Immigration Visa they typed them at the wrong palce.
I told the officer at the POE to correct it. But this is how I got
my Green card.

Pxxxxxx Praxxxxxx R

So they completely missed the Middle name and thinking that
R is the Middle initial. I have not done anything sofar about this.
I feel there is limitation on the card on how may characters they
can put. As long as the full name exists in their records, it should
be OK (my opinion)

Raju

Raju,

Our cases look same! I think it should be OK. But it would give more confidence if we know of any people in the same situation who did not face any problems in travel. When did you get your GC? Did you travel using ur GC?

Thankx

I have not travelled using the GC so far. I got the approval
May 23rd 2003. Got the physical card sometime in June end.

Raju

I travelled 3 times outside the US since I got my GC in late 2002. My most recent trip was during christmas.

My Indian PP has my family name listed first, my real given name 2nd and my other family name listed 3rd.
So this is how it is printed
Axxxx Bxxxx Cxxxx

My GC has the following format

Cxxxx, Bxxxx A

My first family name "Axxxx" (which listed first on my pp) has been abbreviated.
I have never had any problems at all.

should not have a problem
i entered with a GC on 1/2/104 at Newark. MY GC does not lis my middle name(no initial either), only first name and last name, whreas my passport has my full middle name. I was not asked any questions. in fact I had not paid atention and did not know that my GC did not list my middle name. i checked it after reading Krishna GC s posting
