I had my name misspelled , letter "e" instead of "a" in my name. My lawyer sent three faxes as per INS procedure for name correction. Till now no news from INS on action taken. RD is Sep 10.
AP received with same name misspelled.
About to receive EAD and FP completed in Oct.
Do not know if my EAD will have correctly spelled name.
Do not know if INS has corrected my name or not.
My lawyer says, it is possible that they may not correct until the day you go for stamping after approval as this kind of issues are low priority for INS. So what does that mean, I get EAD with misspelled name on it? How do I use it then?
For now I am sleeping over this issue. What do you think.?
My lawyer says they won't issue new receipt with correction But it must be corrected in their system. I received my receipts just yesterday so my lawyer will talk to INS on monday.
