Miami district office

I finally got my approval notice in mail today. Knowing that the approval notice is on its way I tried to schedule an appointment using Infopass for a week now but it kept telling me for Miami district office and West Palm beach suboffice that there is no information avalable. I decided to go there tomorrow without appointment but just before typing this message I wanted to verify the message I was getting and guess what, it allowed me to schedule an appointment. The only problem is that the earliest date is May 4.

Without borring you to death about how much this screws up my vacation, ticket reservation and trip to germany to see family after 7 years I wanted to see if anyone went there without appointment and what do you think would be the best time for me to be there (Miami) in order to avoid the long line.

Thanks,
Alex

Congratulations on getting your approval, Alex_e38.

The Infopass system sucks in that it is first come first served and they simply do not have enough slots for a place as busy as Miami.

You can go to the Miami office without an appointment and take your chances. I believe you have to go to the main office on 79th street. The American Legion building down the street is for those with appointments only.

I would suggest your getting there NO LATER than 5:30 am, preferably earlier. Be prepared for a long wait. Bring a cross word puzzle or something fun to read.

Good luck. I know it is not too pleasant but this is the end of a long immigration journey.

PS: bring three passport pictures.

I went to Miami District Office this morning

Well when you just think it is finally over, they cannot screw me up any more, you get a suprise.

For over a week now I tried to schedule an appointment by using Infopass and I kept getting this message "At this time, there are no information appointments available for the office in your area. Please try back again later".

This morning I got up with my wife and a baby at 4:30AM to go to Miami district office without an appointment as Miami's office website states that they will serve some amunt of people on a walk-in basis and in case of emergencies. I waited in the bushes (security ordered us in line behind bushes in order not to obstruct the walkway) until 7:00AM when they told me that there is no way they will let me in the building without an appointment and emergency is only if someone died (and you have to have a proof). I told them that I wasn't able to make an appointment for more than a week now and they told me to wait in line and do it on their kiosk computer. So I waited and after some time they told us all to go either to a public library or home and do it on-line because their computer is down. I came home and tried to schedule an appointment anywhere in Florida. I got the same message as I was getting before for Miami, West Palm Beach, Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando.
They don't even have a phone number posted that i can call.

What do I do now? Any idea?

Man, I really have no more strength to fight this. I feel like hybernating for some 100 years nad waking up to see that there is no USCIS any more.

I am sorry to hear this. This was standard INS garbage.
