Our dates have become current for June, Gurus here are some things I am unclear on. Details of my case are given below.

- My file is on hold due to visa availability. I was mailed a letter upon request to state that. If it is already processed and kept on hold to be approved, when can that potentially be approved -- June 1st(based on postings on the board)?

- If not then typically how long does it take to get the "case assigned to officer" status?

- If an RFE is issued is it safe to assume it will take another month or so for the apporoval?

- Based on postings the plastic card is received in a month or so.

- The approval notice is received by the lawyers and a copy is sent out to you.

Please clarify on these statements and projected timeframes

jpol- I just posted a message on the board and addressed you too! all of your assumptions look ok to me.. my details are
PD:09/28/98,India,EB3,485 RD:02/07/2000,ND:02/11/2000 FP: 03/20/01 and I am expecting my approval in the first
2 weeks of june (If I dont get a RFE).. if I do, I will add another 45 days maximum to it..so if I get a RFE, I would
expect a approval letter in the hand by july last week. I hope it will be the same (OR BETTER) for you! i have to call iio
to change my address.. I will try to get more info then and post here..

metoo this wait has been the most challenging period of my life with many decisions "on hold"! Hope we get it soon ... it is unbearable now! My company is already begun to lay off some people.

Gurus, Bhanu and Others Pls Help.... I have filed my I-485 just recently. I forgot to include a copy of my H-1 from previous employer but I have included the same from sponsoring employer .. My Lawyer did not check .. Question: is it O.k or will I get an RFE

jpol - I am sorry about that.. I can understand. I know what you feel exactly when you say \'decisions on hold\' since me and
my husband ourselves have put so many life decisions on hold bcos of the uncertainity. .. but dont get restless in the end..
instead start dreaming now on what you want to do once you have the GC. you probably should start looking for a new and
better job! according to what Bhanu posted, you can change jobs any time after you get GC.. your peace of mind is
in your hands. I read a story once that really affected my thought processes. The gist of that story was that you always
have 2 choices - one TO feel good and One NOT TO. And everytime we start to worry, get sad,
depressed, its because we CHOOSE to be like that. You also have a choice to not worry, but we seldom dont make that choice
since we dont know that we have that choice . Sometimes we dont make that choice because we unconsciously think
 \'we are SUPPOSED to be worried at this - so it is abnormal to be cool about it , so I will be normal and worry\'. Nothing is the
end of the world (for us) except death. If you can believe that, nothing can make you worry. Stop worrying and start making

  It is on hold since your pd became current for June. I hope you will get approval within two weeks in june. IF not bcz of RFE add 3 to 4 weeks. Best of Luck. For me My PD missed by 4 days ( Jan 5th 1999 EB3 )

Most likely you will get an RFE. There is no point to send any info now since it will b every confusing to the people at INS. So wait until you receive your RFE and then respond properly. It is best to avoid any possiblility of RFE by making sure that the I-485 package contains all relevant information.
