This is a standard message. I got messages like this from both CA senators. I sent them all what they asked, then they made an inquire with FBI and forwarded me the answer: "Your case is pending". I knew that without them.

same thing for me ..

Yes this is just a standard message from both of the senators just some little word changes here and there.

It is very sad with this system that even the Senators can't help their subjects. I don't know how long is the wait.

Namecheck pending

Sonpapdi/Dima,

1. How did you go about finding senator or congressman from CA ? Sorry,
but I have yet to do my research on the difference between them and
their powers. I live in SF Bayarea, does it matter who can represent me ?

2. When you contacted the Senator, did you specifically request to put
pressure and to investigate reasons for namecheck delay as opposed to
just making an inquiry with FBI -- whose response you already knew
through your own investigation (e.g. fax/email to nncp FBI etc).

3. Did you have results of FOIPA request when you contacted senators
to backup your case ?

4. So far, what steps have you followed from Rahul_Kumar's namecheck
experience ? Have you gotten any success at any level so far ?

Sorry, for the barrage of questions -- I had frustrating awakening this
morning when I received FBI NNCP eamil that namecheck is pending.

every senator/congressman has his/her web page. you just type 'senator' or 'congressman' in Google and it finds those pages for you. Both senators are for the whole state and it doesn't matter which one you contact. (I contacted both) I specifically indicated that my name check was pending for two and half years and asked them to do anything possible to expedite it. I did it again in phone conversations with their constituent services workers. Both senator's offices told me that they can't do anything to expedite name check, all they could do was to inquire about the case status. And this is all they actually did.

I got FOIPA (no records) in 5 days after faxing the request in November 2004.

Rahul Kumar's experience was interesting to read but absolutely fruitless. I did all that he mentioned and suggested with absolutely no result.

How does the second FP gets triggered

I wonder how the second FP gets triggered. dima66a: Did it come to you on its own or you called some number and then they remembered...

Mine is stuck in name check and i do not know if they will even send me the second FP untill the sucking Name check is completed.

FOIPA in my view is absolutely useless. It is an evidence that fbi doesn't have records on you in their central database. Name check used several databases and records can be in other databases than FOIPA uses.

I sent several letter and faxes to CSC asking for FP2. They ignored me comletely. I sent a letter to ombudsman and 3 weeks later I got a response from him and in 3 more weeks I got FP2 notice.

Dima - maybe I am missing a point here. But how does doing second FP
help expedite namecheck process ? Or you are done with namecheck
process and still waiting approval.

FP2 and name check are completely different things. that was answer to gc_man about FP2.

the point is: when name check sooner or later is finished, your case may be approved sooner if your FP report is valid. Otherwise, after years of waiting for name check, you have wait several months for FP notice, and then FP may be scheduled in 2 months in advance and some ASC don't allow early fingerprinting

My name check was finished on June 23, 2005.
