Message changed to RFE sent

VSC/485

Registered Users (C)
Folks, my message changed to RFE sent on 8/1/00. My EAC is 99-157. Details in crazyboy\'s tracker. Wife\'s (derivative) message hasn\'t changed. I guess I am glad something is happening even though it is not an outright approval. If nothing, it is good to hear a different message after 15 months of agonizing wait. Will keep you guys posted. Crazyboy please update my information on the tracker. I will also post this information under the tracker message thread.

Good luck. It is so frustrating that after the audits VSC is basically moving at snails pace.

It would be atleast okay if they clear all pre-august cases before the end of year.

vsc1299:
I still have very little hope of getting my GC this year. Sending out enormous numbers of RFE is VSC\'s way of avoiding _adjudicating_ cases and still claiming to be _processing_ cases. Let\'s say I physically receive my RFE on Aug 10th and I respond to it by Aug 15th, it could still take them a month before they get to looking at the RFE response and very close to end of fiscal 2000. This is precisely the time they are going to start getting busy with fiscal 2001 H-1s. Sorry to spread such a pessimistic mood around the chat board, but so far VSC has given me no cause to feel optimistic. I\'ve almost come to believe that the way the adjudicators is operate is 2 approvals followed by 20 RFEs keeping actual approvals to about 10%.

At this point all INS is concerned is making sure that they bring the official processing times back to one year. So shortly you will see few lucky ones picked from the August lot and then INS claims to have succeeded in bringing down the processing times before the end of summer;thus avoiding legal problems if any.
However for the rest of the unlucky ones before august, i still feel INS would process at snails pace and complete their cases just before the end of the year.

In your case, if my guess is right you should have your approval before 15th of September (worst case).
