memphis interview time after i485 is transferred

Hello ,
We received letter from USCIS-TX that our case was transferred to memphis office for them to conduct our interview.
Does anyone have similar experience at memphis office.how long before they schadule our interview?our uscis letter saied our processing was complete.
Also they listed,on the letter, a phone number for memphis office of uscis but when we tried calling,it says it has been disconnected.anyone has number for memphis office of uscis?

Our cases also transfered today to Memphis. Anybody know timeline to expect interview dates?
 
Does it mean your name check is complete ?

Hi,
Does the transfer imply that your name check is complete and only interview is pending ?

Or it is independent ?. You could still be struck in name check even after interview at local office ?

Hi Nathanss,

I just did my biometrics (see my signature) recently. I am not sure if I get in similar situation as for you (interview at local USCIS office). Your regular updates on this matter will be helpful. Lets keep this thread active for us & others in may be similar situations.

BTW Is memphis the nearest USCIS office to you? We are in TN (eastern), so we went to Charlotte (NC) for biometrics.

Please keep updated.

I am in Nashville and did biometrics in Nashville. But to conduct interview, they have transfered the case to Memphis.
 
is interview is bad thing

is this aos interview .. random.. or is there any particular reasons.I heard usually,in i 485 aos,they dont conduct interview.i am nervous.

Abar,

usually 485 (employment cases) as of I know are adjudicated without any interview. They call for interview only in circumstances they feel some evidence they need in detail. So I think it is usaully bad thing that we need to prepare any short falls in our cases. In my case, I identified names in my passport, my medical conditions could be a problem that prompted them to local transfer. You can read about people who got transfered to get some idea.

I have not received the interview yet. Memphis is processing 485 cases received before 16 April 2006. You can check out the dates in the following link for district office processing times.

Memphis I-485 prcessing times are stuck at 16 April 2006. They have not yet updated for this month. Anybody else for interview in Memphis?
 
Hi Nathan,

I am planning to get an infopass this month to see if my name check has been clear.

All the DO's reflect the same date like Memphis,it will change and be the same for all as now they try to remain in 6 month time frame as per president Bush mandated.I am not sure that is a law or some type of directive from president to process case within 6 months.

Yaa looks like. They have updated the processing dates and moved a month to May 16, 2006. I have to wait until it becomes Sep 2006. I am in Nashville and do you think if I take an info pass in Nashville, they will tell me about status of name check?

The best way to check if the name check is done via Info Pass.I have an info pass on 12/01/06 at Memphis.USCIS office in Nashville(ASC) is just for FP's and they are not up for Info Pass.

Finally dependents approved

Finally, my son and wife whao are derivative are approved and received their cards last week. Mine still pending. Apparently they were given cards with PR since 9/25/2007. So the local memphis office actually approved us and card production took so long.

I am still waiting for my approval notice and card.
