medicine to india

Sorry for posting this but did not know where to ask...
Need a prescription medication (available only in the US) for a very sick patient in India.
US pharmacies told me that they will not issue the medicine without US prescription. (We were ready to have one faxed to them from Chennai).
My PCP in US said no to writing a prescription.

Any ideas what else can I try.
Thank you for your help.

You can have your doctor fax the prescription here with the case details to a doctor who might be able to talk to him and then prescribe something. It also means having a steady communication with doctor in India with a doctor in the US. It's a long short but something you may want to try!

I needed some medications for my parents when they were here. They had prescriptions from India already but needed new medications since there medicines from India were almost over. Doctor called the drug company (which manufactured the drug) and asked about the similar drug they manufacture in the US. It was the same medicine just different name. He was able to prescribe those ones.

Cheers!

Canadian Pharmacies are more flexible and provide medication on Indian Prescriptions.. U can order online/phone and they would mail it to you. Beware though that, right or wrong, Indian doctors are still prescribing medicines long banned in western world.

Just search "canada pharmacy" on google and u would get more than ur share..

goodluck!

Canadian pharmacies are not only flexible but the medicines are very cheap. You can also try in Mexico where they do not need a prescription like in India and cost very less. You need to know the local trade name for the drug that you are looking for though.

Good luck !
