My husband got positeve skin test(tb) but negative x-ray.
Will this cause any problem? Can he apply now or he needs to go through some kind of treatment.
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks

talk to the doc..Kristal...

...not Dr Lha..but hte surgeon, they recommend further steps. I think, if Xray is -ve...he's fine. Else medication wud have been the next step. clearly, ur hubby is not a "X man" -)

I got the same result as your husband did. As long as your x-ray is negative, it wouldn't affect your application.

With a neg. x-ray you should be fine, otherwise the civil surgeon would have said something (e.g. given you meds).

The TB skin test is notorious for giving false positive diagnoses, even more so for foreigners.

Same situation here

I have + skin test and - Xray. Doc prescribed me nine months of antiobiotics for precautinoary measures.
Do I need to wait till I complete the course of medication or Can I apply now?

Thanks

This is very weird. My husband has been presribed 9 months of antibiotics. He has no symptoms whatsoever and he has to take like two pills per day for 9 months. In order to file his adjustment of Status, is he required to complete this course before he even can file?
We have done his chest x-ray with some other pulmonary specialist. Who needs to sign off? The chest x-ray doc or civil surgen?
This is CRAZY!

Find ANOTHER doctor. Simple and easy

he is fine.

Acutally what happens is that, In foreign countries such as india, pakistan, asia, middle east with the exception of canada,uk and usa, when babies are born they are given BCG injections, so when you were born you were also given BCG injections , so when you came to states and got TB test done, you came out positive due to presence of BCG in your bodies( BCG's are dead virus) , but it doesnt mean that you have a TB, it just means that when ever you will go do the TB test, you will most likely to show a positive result, and your chest x ray will always be negative. So, you do not have to take anti biotics to treat any thing because you dont have the symptoms of TB to begin with. However, some doctors would recommend to take some medications just cause they think your immune system might get attack by TB virus. As far as immigration goes, you should be fine, as long as Xray is negative. Hope that will help. :)
thanx

No problems. My skin test is always positive, no matter what. And it doesn't mean I have TB. It just means something's royally screwed up in how my system and that test interact :)

An X-Ray is the way to go. If it's good, your husband shouldn't have any worries. :) I don't understand what kind of doctor would treat one with antibiotics just because of a positive skin test...

Ladybird, I think you're right about that BCG shot, I think I had that as a child too, but I always had a positive skin test in my country as well. Every freakin' year. So go figure... :)

This so freakin retarded.
