Medical RFe question for POJ , saras76 and other members

i recieved an RFE for my 2 kids age 13 and 11 for medical exam saying.

" The applicant is required to have medical exam in conjunction with this application .submit a Form-I693 Medical Examination report and Documentaion of Immunization , Suplement form to I-693, obtained from and completed byan INS authorized physician . The I-693 form must include a result from an Examination for Tuberclulosis ..."

I submitted the Medicals at the time of I-485 application back in 2003 so ido not understand why the new request ? Can you guys or gals throw some light.

Dear Friend,

Don't worry about it, its normal now a days and officer is just following the book. it seems Dr missed somthing.

Did your both kids gone thorugh skin-test/TB?
Was skin-test posivitve? and did Dr took X-ray?


Let me share u first somthing if u didn't read my last RFE which was similar case. and they asked about X-ray report must be submited, my skin test was positive as usually south-east countries ppl do, and they took X-ray, on Form I-693 there is one filed about TB test and X-ray I believe Dr only writes skin-test posivte with mm info and in X-ray field they wirte NORMAL. and no need to followup any thing.

The officer actualy asked me to 'duly executed' and X-ray report must be submited words in RFE,

All I did is I went to same Dr and first (with little sweet angry mood ) asked them that pull my file and find what was missing and what they are asking now, Even X-ray was done. they found that there is a report a seperate page /supplement page with some disease names on it that need to be CHECKED by like

1. ABCD disease y/n

2. XYZ disease y/n
..........

all boxed need to be checked that report should be submited as supplement of I-693 form / they call X-ray Report. they say they usually don't put with I-693, but you know the Dr office clerk just have way to excuse. anyway they copied all again and put in envlope and sealed it again, no re-done / additional procedure was required.

The careless clerk didn't included that and I paid price as headache. and this time I asked them to seal the envlope in front of me so I can see that. they just copied the oldone and I-693 + suplement X-ray report were put inside and they sealed that. I also asked to give me my copy of my medical and they did give the copy exactly what was in envelope.

It seems if the kids have not done the skin-test then they must go thourgh the skin-test and if test positive then x-ray and make sure and tell them VERBALY that seal the envelope in front of you so u make sure they put both papers for both kids.


Don't worry you do not need to spend any $, Dr will give u copy of that and if skin-test is done it may cost u little,

I dont remember if the Skin test was done for the kids and probably that is the reason for the RFE . I was told that the TB test is not required for kids they were 9 and 11 years old at that time (2003) .
Anyhow my question was if i have to get the complete test redone or not , but you are suggesting that i should get the TB test and previous copies and make sure that the Doctors office includes everything required in the envelope before sealing . Thanks again for your help .

I do not have to much experience with Medical RFEs. I think POJ can give you all the required information.

When u go to Dr, ask to pull info, if skin-test was not done then do it and if x-ray is required follow it. make sure they put both report I-693 form and X-ray-report a seperate peace of paper(only in x-ray case) in envlope.

No need to re-done medical unless you like.
