Hi,

I just got letter from canadian consulate to do our medical checkup. But my wife is pregnant (july 20 is due date). I am not in a hurry - I can wait (I've been living in USA since 1999. First on F1 and then on H1. I am on 6th year of my H1. I have approved labor and yet to file I140).

Question is:
1. Do I have to tell consulate that I'll wait until baby is born, or there is no need to tell.
2. Is there any deadline to do medical examination - in letter it doesn't state anywhere about the deadline.

Thanks,

Why is your US immigration a concern for your Canadian Medical Exam ???

Question is:
1. Do I have to tell consulate that I'll wait until baby is born, or there is no need to tell.

They tell you to inform them if there is a change in the composition of your family. So eventually you have to tell them.

2. Is there any deadline to do medical examination - in letter it doesn't state anywhere about the deadline.

After you get the Letter to do your medical, they give you about 120 days to do your medical exam and respond. So your baby is going to come about that period. You and your wife can still do the medical test, only thing they will not do for her is the X-ray. From what I understood was that once you go there to Canada, your wife will have to do the X-ray there. On the Canadian Website there is a list of doctors there. You can call up any doctor's office and talk to them. They will guide you with the latest guidelines. After, they do the medical test, they send the results to Canada (I think Ottawa) and then they update the system. Only then does the local office send you your final letter requesting your passport and money, if you haven't already paid.

Thanks,

I hope I have answered your question sufficently.
