Medical leave while doing NIW/ Process after NIW completion

Hi Gurus
Does anyone know what happens if one is forced to take medical leave (off pay-roll) while doing an NIW in California. I have heard that you have to compensate by working the extra time in NSC, but I'm not sure if that's true in Calif.
Also, does anyone have updates about what happens when you complete your NIW? This has been discussed before, I know. Has anyone recently completed an NIW? Did you submit docs for completion yourself, or did you wait for an RFE from the service center?

i am in a similar situation, doing NIW/J1 waiver and going to take one month FMLA leave , hopefully there should be no problem, has anyone else had experience to paternity leave underFMLA
