Medical for aged in-law in IL

Hello,
My in-laws recently got GC in Mumbai. They are planning to be in another month. We live in IL.
Do they become eligible for Medicare in IL?
Also, for first few months we are planning to get them insurance from India (Tata travel insurance) that costs about 25k rupees per month for $50k medical.

After that they need to switch to US insurance. They are 75+, will medicare cover some part from day 1 in IL? OR should be buy in market place , if so any recommendations?
 
Buy a plan from the marketplace. They get a subsidy if their income is below 400% of the poverty level.

I believe they are not eligible for Medicare until they have had a green card for 5 years, and even then, since they have not earned 40 quarters of Social Security credits, they would need to pay a premium for Medicare Part A.

Can the have visitor insurance from India- Tata for say 3 or 4 months. Anyone see problems with that?
