Medical/Finger Printing

I may be filing I-485 concurrently with I-140. New to 485 procedures. When should medical be done - at the time of filing 485 or can it be done after filing 485? same with finger printing?

Do the medical tests before filing I-140 and I-485 (concurrent filing). For fingerprinting you will receive the notice from USCIS after you file.
 
thanks. do i just go to a uscis approved physician (from uscis.gov) assuming he'll have all the papers and give me a sealed envelope with my medical report? how does it work?
 
Lookup 2-3 of the approved physicians from the USCIS website and call them up to make appointments for your convenience and also ask them for the fee. Choose the best option for you and then ask what you need to bring with you. They will most likely tell you to bring passport, I-693 and money or a check. If you can bring some of your vaccination history or check with your doctor for past vaccinations it will be useful. You will most likely be asked questions about vaccination history.

Yes, that's how it works most probably you will get a copy of the medical report too.
