I am going to take an appointment as soon as possible.
when I go to my Dr i will inform him about the interview date to see what's his opinion on when to do the test.
Also a very important point to keep in my mind, make sure the validity of the tests done to be valid for 6 months or more from your interview date.
If they expire lets say in 3 months, you will get a valid visa for 3 months. If more than 6 months, your visa will be valid for 6months.

I wasn't aware the validity of medical clearance had an impact on validity of green card? I thought once you got your green card ,you had 6 months to enter the US to use it. I wonder if this is also same with police clearances too then?
As for medical appointment in relation to your interview, I asked similar question here and was told at least a few weeks before interview. You will probably/definitely need to have 2 appointments for medical clearance as you need xrays and blood work. Additionally, you will require a seasonal flu shot if you get your clearance before 31st March as US flu season ends April 1st.

My interview is in April.
I called my Dr today to schedule my interview for the examinations.
The Dr was picked from the list recommended by KCC in which I have found here http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3739.html
I also asked my Dr about the validity of the test, he said they are valid for one year from the date of results and results will be available withing 2 days.
