Medical Exam -when?

I read on immihelp.com that one can do the medical exam after receiving the I140 approval and then send the results(medical exam results) with the I485.
Today I called my lawyer and asked him about his. The answear was that I have to wait for VSC to send a notice for this medical exam and then go ahead and do the examination. If this is the case then the process seems similar to waiting for FP notice....

Because I am getting 2 different opinion on this I don\'t know which one is correct!

All I want is to avoid waiting periods when VSC is sending RFE. What is the point in waiting for RFE and then produce the result(in this case the medical exam form)?

absolutely NO NO.

you do not need a notice from anyone except yourself to do medical exam. Medical exam is valid for one year.
If your I485 filing date is X, then you can do medicals anytime between {X - 365, X}.

I still don\'t understand what my lawyer is saying to wait.... If I am getting a RFE it will take time to respond and he should be interested in getting his money asap.!?

For a second I thought that noy everybody is requested to do the medical exam....
 
You can do the Medical Examination at the time of applying I485

If you are waiting for your 140 approval, You can do the Medical at the time of applying 485. It\'s just the matter of 3 to 4 days. You don\'t have to worry from now.

If you applied for 485 with out Medical, then wait for RFE from INS.
 
Fire your lawyer

Looks like you got an incompetent attorney. You have to attach medical exams results along with 485 package. Medical exam results are valid for a year, I believe. As dates are current now a days, you can just go ahead and finish medicals ASAP. I guess, your attorney might be confused with the medical exam requirements for CP with 485.
