medical aid to newly acquired green card holders who are over 70 years of age

I would like to know whether the newly acquired green card holders who are over the age of 70 years get any medical assistance in case of need or in emergency from the us govt or from the local county in which they are residing without a financial strain on the children (sponsoreres). kindly eloborate on this subject. If there are any websites which give details of the county assistance for medical , kindly provide please
