Hello Everyone.
I had received the 1rst NL for DV2010, but for some reasons, I posted my petition only in January of this year. My CN was AF70***, someone told me that since I did it so late, when all the number become current, someone who has a higher CN (let's say AF78***) but has filed his form earlier than me would most probably have their interview earlier than me because of the notion of priority date ?
Could you confirm me if it's true or not ?

In other words, once the VB because current, what matters is not the case number anymore, but the date the petition was received at the KCC, even if that was months ago

Thank you

no, not for dv. dv cases go by cn's and the deadline is sept 30. after that date no dv cases will be granted visas anymore. priority dates are for other petitions like family petitions.

Thank you for your quick reply.
So you mean once the VB becomes current, the order of getting the interview will still depends on the CN and not of the date of reception of the petition right ? (provided that the fiscal year is not over off course)

rightfully, yes. but there are other factors that will sometimes delay a case, like requests for more evidence, etc. so to be safe and not to anticipate any delays in your case, submit more than asked for. whatever you think will help your case, just submit it. there are 2 cases this year that i am aware of that went thru without an interview.
