Hi All,

A simple question:

Does "concurrent processing" mean you HAVE TO apply for both I-140 & I-485 at the SAME TIME?

Or does it also mean that you can file for I-485 WHILE I-140 is PENDING?

Can you point me to some CIS website regarding this? I have been looking but yet unable to come across any related site.

Thanks!

Hi zz03

Concurrent filing means that you can file for I-485 without waiting for I-140 approval. Now that been said it is upto you when you would want to file I-140 & I-1485 could be same day or maybe spread out (days, weeks, months)
Generally speaking (based on most the people/lawyers that I talked to) it is always better to file I-140 wait for the receipt number and then file I-485.

My lawyer has sent all the applications in one pack.
I am not sure why one need to wait for receipt of 140.
