MDs/Doctors going doing fellowship, are they EB1?

couple of my friends are going to start fellowships.

I used to think that fellowship means they will be publishing their work in scientific journals which will qualify them for EB1

or is it that Doctors qualify for EB1 without having publications (merit of their specialisation etc..)

It depends on how you argue your case.

There are fellowships and there are fellowships. Some have research and one publishes and some are purely clinical. While doing a fellowship does help you have to have other accomplishments. Again, as Ajasha has stated, it is the way the evidence is put together
