MBA Finance guy wants work authorization?

I am currently on H4 Visa.

I am a MBA Finance guy and has experience in Share Trading and am looking to apply for a financial advisor position in USA. I have been asked for Work Authorization at most places.

I am wondering if there are other positions that I can apply to settle down in US.

Should I get a H-1B sponsporship ? Or is there any other Visa Category I can apply for ?

What would be my options to work in USA? Can I get a work permit as my wife is on H-1B ? As her EAD is going to take more time (priority date July 2008).

I did hear that lot of MBAs in finance (with US experience and either on GC or having Citizenship) are looking for positions, and it is tough competition out there.

But isn't getting H-1B Sponsorship a Chicken and Egg thing.

And whenever I approach anybody for a job (Both Companies and Consultants) they ask for my work authorization and vice versa.

I was working as a Financial Manager in India till last May, and in June 2010 I wrote CFA Level 1 exam, am waiting for results. I am wondering what would be other positions I can go for other than a Financial Advisor?

Moving to IT is kinda different for me, I even did Oracle Applications course back home. I am not sure about Oracle Apps opportunities in US and also getting H-1B sponsorship for that :).

Just doing a short term course and with some put up experience, will it be possible to get a position and sponsorship asap ?

I am looking for all the options to have a job when I wait for EAD.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Vijay

H1b is your best bet at this time. If you are asked by potential employers, you tell them that you don't have work authorization and will need H1b sponsorship. You are not eligible to get an EAD(work permit) as a result of your wife's H1b. Has your wife applied for her green card? If so, what stage is her processing at? Once she is eligible to take the final step (filing a form called I-485) she and you can get EAD.

I interpret your statement to indicate that you would falsify your resume to get a job. YOU DO NOT HAVE THE CHARACTER TO BE A FINANCIAL ADVISOR IN THE US. Lying for an immigration benefit can result in permanet exclusion even if your spouse becomes a USC.
